Archivistes sans frontières international, représentant ses 13 sections nationales, se joint à la section des archives et des droits humains de l'ICA (ICA-SAHR) pour dénoncer le recul significatif représenté par les dernières mesures du gouvernement argentin concernant l'accès aux archives du ministère de la Défense pour le droit à connaître la vérité sur les violations des droits humains commises pendant les années de la dictature de 1976-1983, et pour le droit à réparation. The  Forum of National Archivists (FAN) of the International Council on Archives will organize a Quarterly Virtual Colloquium on Archival Matters for the year 2024. This series of virtual gatherings aims to foster insightful discussions and collaborative efforts in addressing the contemporary challenges faced by national archives globally. https://lnkd.in/ert92dan The first session will take place on Tuesday 16 April 2024 12:00 – 13:00 CET (Paris time) and will be dedicated to exploring the impact of politics and governance on National Archives. In this session, we will delve into the intricate ways in which shifting political goals and policies influence the perception, value, and utilization of national archival holdings, as well as the role of national archival institutions.   The first speaker will be  Stanley H. Griffin, PhD, Deputy Dean, Undergraduate Matters & Senior Lecturer, Archival and Information Studies, Faculty of Humanities & Education, Department of Library and Information Studies of the University of the West Indies.  The second speaker is: Dr. Esther Olembe, Director General of the Cameroon Archives and Professor of Archivistics at the University of Yaoundé.
